hallo,
i am using the SB Extigy. It works (records + plays in 48 kHz).
After i cvscompiled the source of february the 17,
the card is listed as a MIDI-device, but does not produce any midi-sound.
How do i load MIDI-Patch files onto the Extigy?
For the SBLive, there is a tool called sfxload.

Olaf,
Are you sure the firmware patch applies to the 8x8?
I believe it applies to the 2x2 and 4x4 which if I
recall from reading mailing list posts both have the
same chipset. I don't recall the 8x8 being mentioned
as having that same chipset. Am I unaware of somthing?
I also have an 8x8 and so

One suggestion - if you're doing any sort of development work which
depends on ALSA, you really should be using the 0.9 release, since the
API has changed,
i have redhat 7.3 with alsa 0.9 and i run a terratec

working yet, but that is another problem...) and the midisport 8x8 as an
usb midi-interface
and i do not get the midi interface to work. would could i have done

Hi,
Having downloaded alsa-driver, alsa-lib, alsa-utils (all 0.9.0rc7), I
compiled and inserted the driver, with seemingly no errors. The same
happened with alsa-lib and alsa-utils. Everything seems to work fine,
and lsmod shows up with snd-via82xx. alsamixer lets me unmute and set

I would suggest you to test the current CVS.
Sorry, but latest CVS does not work. Sound is still very distorted. CVS
from 2002-12-09 12:00 works well though, which is what I'm using now :)
It is using version 1.37 alsa-kernel/pci/cs46xx/cs46xx_lib.cc.
