Hi everyone.
Please give me some hints; I have problems building Alsa-lib from cvs:
This is what I do: got the whole tree from cvs, cd into alsa-lib run
./cvscompile --with-kernel=/usr/src/linux
The first error I get is from autoheader:
/usr/bin/autoheader-2.13: Symbol 'VERSION' is not covered
Even if I use "./configure --with-cards=emu10k1" I am still
getting a problem with the following driver. Any solutions ?
...
make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/alsa/alsa-driver/pci/emu10k1'

Hello,
I want to look at implementing support for the legacy OPL operator in the
CS46xx driver. Does anyone have the datasheet with register specifications
for CS4624 or CS4630? I checked on Crystal's ftppclink ftp site, but they
seem to have disabled directory listings in some directories. :
Alsa people,
I pinged the list a while back while I was attempting to get ALSA working on
my RedHat 7.3 box and I eventually gave up. In an effort to be somewhat
helpful I have listed the general chronology below, sorry if the detail is
missing (not to mention my dodgy memory) but the theme seem
Hi Paul,
nice to see you here, too :)
I could eventually solve my problems by updating to a stock SuSE kernel 2.4.16.
I do have missing symbols in some strange modules now, but alsa works :)
Good luck...

Hey-
I'm running an nForce board here and wonder if I can get multiple things
going out the soundcard at the same time.
I had been using OSS as it was in the kernel. I then fought hard to try
and get VMWare to use ESD or ARTSD to no avail. So then I read a few
usenet posts where people said th

Hello,
Recently, I've solved my "no-sound" problems using the ALSA development
version on CVS. Only this version has the intel's 845 chipset (ICH4)
support advanced enough.
But I have two more little problems I cannot solve without some help
1) The sound very quiet, even with all volume contro
Hi,
I've got a strange problem that I'm hoping someone could help me with.
I've got a SBLive card and am using the ALSA drivers (emu10k1). I get
sound, but I randomly get a hissing/popping sound for a few minutes at a
time. I'll be listening to some music, crisp and clear, then I'll start

Hi!
I have a Rev. B iMac and I'm trying to get alsa up and running on it...
The problem is that everytime I try to load the modules, my computer
freezes and I have to force reboot.
It happens with alsa-driver 0.9.0rc3 with all the kernels I have tried
and it also happens with alsa from kernel be
Audio out on the card is fine, and timidity is
able to play. What I really need to do is read
and write MIDI to external devices, and I'm having
problems with that.
I can open /dev/midi for reading, but read calls
hang indefinitely, even though I've got MIDI
devices sending events to the card.
Hi list,
When I play midifiles with the jazz sequencer (snd-usb-midi and snd-seq-oss
loaded) I quite ofen get hanging note, sending a all notes off message
doesn't work as I can't send any midi when that appears.
Jazz can send midi on different channels but when I play my midi keyboard

Hello,
I'm trying to get the onboard sound for a Dell Dimension 4500 working.
I've tried the kernel (2.5.40) ALSA intel8x0 drivers, but "cat
/dev/dsp" gives the error message "No such device". I didn't get any
error messages when loading the drivers, but I never saw a message
stating that
