Groetjes to Frans for THIS help: ``This is the OSS/Free module :)''
You mean ;-) ? Or what?
There is no OSS/Free module in modconf. And I don't know what this
answer would help me. I still am in good hope and give it another try
that someone out there has solved the SB 16PCI problem and can help

How did you configure? I had this problem when I used
--with-debug=basic
When I specified no debug or --with-debug=detect then
the unresolved symbols would go way.

My Soundblaster 16PCI doesn't want to work with debian-woody alsa.
Alsa packet versions are >= 0.9 there. Linux kernel is 2.4.16.
lsmod says:
es137125984 0
gameport 1484 0 [es1371]
soundcore 3556 4 [es1371]
So the right modules should be installed.
lspci -v says:

Hi,
I've installed my SB PCI 128 under the ALSA-Version coming along with
SuSE 8.0. All sound fonctions work well. If I try to record with my
microphone under Gnome 1.4.1's sound recorder , the result is somthing
like scrambled noise of my voice. I get the same result with KDE. The
sound recorder
Hi,
Running under Mandrake 8.2 which used alsa 0.5 I had a nice 3D control
in Kmix and could use the rear channels of my SoundBlaster Live Value.
I am now running Mandrake 9.0 beta4 which uses alsa 0.9rc2 and am having
no luck getting the rear channels working. I have messed around with
amixer

Hi,
I am trying to install the ALSA driver. I successfully compiled the driver,
library and the utils.
However like a thorn in my skin , the module snd-intel8x0.o won't load

Hej,
when I try to compile alsa-utils-0.9.0rc2 on my
debian kernel 2.4.18-bf2.4 I get a error:
alsamixer.c:117: ncurses.h: No such file or

does anyone know this problem?
I succesfully compiled the drivers and the
libs.
Kind regards,

alias parport_lowlevel parport_pc
alias eth0 eepro100
alias usb-controller usb-uhci
# ALSA portion
alias char-major-116 snd
alias snd-card-0 snd-intel8x
