Hi!
Yeah, get the DSP specs from hercules/crystal.
Of course they will not give them to you, so you will have to steal them.
If you will succeed in stealing them, then you will be a REAL hero of the community.

I managed to solve my own problem with my previous issues with ALSA on devfs.
I'm going to share them in case people have the same issues. (and they will on
devfs)
In /etc/init.d/alsasound (the alsa startup/shutdown script) there is a small
section that allows a user to have a little script run
I upgraded from the stable release of the drivers (0.5.12a I think), and
am having a couple problems.
1. After upgrading, alsactl was complaining about my /etc/asound.conf.
I first tried to fix this file, but it was not clear what needs to be
in there, so I removed this file completely.

All fixed.
The problem was that my delta 1010 isn't a valid sound card for q3 I guess.
I changed the load sequence in /etc/modutils/aliases and /etc/init.d/bootmisc.sh
and now it works cause /dev/pcm0 is the other card (sblive)
ah well. it's fixed thank god =)

Hi,
I'm using a Hercules Fortissimo II with the cs461x driver,
version 0.5.10. Does anyone know how to enable the
toslink digital output?
thanks,

I have a machine with a Crystal CX4235 (which somehow became a Cirrus

Hi list, I have this problem.

Michael,
Interestingly enough, I get the same "unresolved symbols" in the
snd-rawmidi module with Alsa 0.5.12a, but it only happens when I compile
with "--with-debug=full". Without the debug flags, I don't get the
unresolved symbols error, but using /dev/sequencer hard freezes the
computer. Cou
Michael,
I'm not using devfs. Maybe I should give it a try.
Surely there has to be someone with Linux and the Via 686 that has gotten
both working with MIDI? How is it done? What versions of sound
drivers/Linux kernel are used?
Thanks,
Erik.

Hi.
I'm temporarily not on any alsa* mailinglist so please cc to me.
Turning on 'IEC958 DAC To Out' does _not_ route all analog signals to SPDIF
as preclaimed in the docs. Especially analog input from line-in does not
appear on the SPDIF output. I verified this by playing some music through

I doubt it. My card is a 'trust'. Besides there is little to implement
