Just wondering how I can find out the MIDI instrument names of
instruments loaded from a sound font?
I am possibly asking the wrong question here as I am new to sound card/midi
technology. I appreciate your guidance.

I've just been trying to build the current CVS ALSA drivers -- this is the
first time I've done a build since the alsa-kernel directory was created.
The build and install report as OK but snd-card-ice1712.o is not there! I
think everything else that should be there is there.

I compiled ALSA driver 0.9.0beta10, and noticed that the module didn't
unload properly.
# rmmod snd-card-interwave
gave 'device or resource busy' -error. I then compiled the driver again,
this time --without-sequencer, and now it unloads fine.

as recording didn't work with the stable drivers, I tried the 0.9 beta
drivers ...
recording works now sometimes, but I get some strange system freezes ...
I get 3 results
1) everything is fine
2) system freezes (can't find any usefull info in the log)
