Check out Dave Phillips's website: sound.condorow.net. It's the source
for linux audio sound. For sound editing, I like Snd, and Broadcast2000
(no longer available from the author but downloadable from SUSE or
Mandrake), but some people prefer GLAME or Sweep.
Unfortunately, however, non-destru

Looking at the errors I get and at compat_22.h I think that the "missing
features" are not missing on my kernel, even though It is declared as a
2.2.17 kernel. But how can I workaround with that problem ? I hope I don't
have to patch compat_22.h for I'm not used with patching and kernel

searching for a sequencing

Hi alsa users,
I've tried to install ALSA sound driver 0.9.0beta8a for
SB Live! on kernel 2.4.12. Every installation procedures seems to be all right
except the last command "modprobe". When I execute "modprobe", several error
messages are printed as follows.
% modprobe snd-card-emu10k1

Does your soundcard use DMA channel 2 ? This channel is special, because
it belongs to floppy drive.

guess I did have a broken kernel source.
I wonder if anyone else has seen the following issue/problem with HP
Pavilion PCs. In case others have had similar problems, I hope the
following will be useful to them:
By default,
