Title: Can't get live drive to work with emu10k1
I have installed the newest beta release and correctly configured
everything to work as far as I can tell; however, I still don't have
live drive support. This is my current options line from the
modules.conf:
alias snd-card-0 snd-card-emu10k1

Thanks, Takashi, now I got joystick support! I have to work on
sequencer, though. I have
in xmms, when a song ends the next song in the playlist starts playing,
but i can't hear anything. if i click on the volume lever on the xmms
window, the sound starts immediately. what would be causing the sound to
suddenly shut off between songs (and yet start immediately on a mouse
click)?

nevermind. i /finally/ figure it out. in the past (older kernels),
snd_wss_port was set to 0x530. now it's apparently dependent on the
bios, which on my machine is 0x220. switching the modules.conf to reflect
snd_wss_port=0x220 fixed the problem.

i cannot get this thing to make any sound, and i don't know what else to
do. i'm running a gateway solo 2500 which uses the opl3sa modules. it
works flawlessly under oss, but to get where i need to go, i've got to
have alsa installed.
i've built it all from source with no problems. i've cranke

I'm using a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz, which uses the CS46xx
chipset/driver, and I can't seem to get any sound. I did *once*, but
have no idea how.
The modules seem to load without a hitch, and I set all playback volumes
to max and unmute. There also doesn't seem to be any conflicts with
IO/IR

If you mean MIDI as MIDI emulation (not MPU401), then no.

what kind of alsa-driver do you use?
alsa9 or alsa5 or the latest cvs-version??
if you use alsa9
at first you have to run the script 'snddevices' wich resides in your
alsa-driver-directory this makes the needed entrys in your /dev.
if you use some native oss-emulation you also have to define pcm.d
