I have installed Mandrake Linux 8.0 and (briefly) 8.1 on my Gateway PentiumIII with a SB Live value card, but can't get the sound to work. I have installed the ALSA utilities and when I try to unmute with amixer, I get the message "The ALSA sound driver was not detected in this system". Mandrake 8
