tested it that way (a little wary of direct installing it at first, it
not being a final release).. however it did use the local swap space on

In a post on ubuntu forums I found the suggestion to change the desktop
background theme to Clearlooks. Did this, and most of the problems went
away (needed to log out and in again though and one of the most
important problems, system monitor crashing, did not go away so there
are probably 2 proble

I have been having trouble getting XRDP to work with nearly every
application in Ubuntu. Some critical examples are a gnome terminal or
the gnome-system-monitor. Both of these crash immediately upon starting.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Vanilla install of Ubuntu Desktop 10.10 x64 on a VirtualBox vm, (Ubuntu
10.04 x64 host).
2. Use Ubuntu Software Center to install xrdp.
3. Start the VM using vboxheadless.
4. Remote into the VM using rdesktop on the host.

ubuntu 10.04 and now 10.10. Installing xrdp using the ubuntu software
center (as I did on the host after many unsuccessful attempts from the

I also have this issue with 780g based ECS a780gm-a motherboard and an
ATI 3450 gpu. On a side note I have recently upgraded my bios and I
think that prior to doing so it may not have caused a kernel panic in
8.04. I would be happy to help test any solutions to this issue.
