Public bug reported: I was upgrading from 16.04 LTS to 18.04, First error reported was the installation failure of "systemd-shim" package. The following errors seemed to related. 18.04 got installed and running, but there may be related issues, I am not aware of yet. Release: lsb_release -rd D

Hi, I've learned it the hard way, I have already re-compiled the kernel to support sound (unfortunately is the normal way on Linux), before I have found that the RH 5.2 kernel was compiled with support of many sound card !. You'd need to find the utility called sndconfig or something like this,
