I had the same issue with HP Probook G8, bought this year.
Fn key worked fine when I installed Ubuntu 20.04, but later they started
behaving as described here. The brightness buttons (Fn F3 and Fn F4) started
turning on and off the digital mic.
I performed the hard reset as somebody suggested an
Ubuntu Montenegro received DVDs!

The disk drive for /dev/mapper/cryptswap1
Confirmed on several laptop/desktop PCs. Swap partition not available after the
install. The temporary workaround was to:
1) install gparted
2) format swap partition as linux-swap
3) comment/delete line in the /etc/crypttab containing description of cryptswap1
4) use sudo blkid to find your new UU

in to connect to your WiFi connection (i.e. eduroam). Then click on the
network icon in the top panel, select Edit Connections and change
settings for your connection (i.e. eduroam). Go to the General tab, and

I just have fresh install of Debian. Kernel is 2.4. When I tried to
install Kernel 2.6.x machine did not boot. I had to reinstall the whole
deal again.
Any step-by-step on how to upgrade Kernel on a fresh install?

I will try to summrize what I did to make X working on my U10 w/ Elite 3D:
1a) Download afbinit package from:
http://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/contrib/a/afbinit/afbinit_1.0-1_sparc.deb
1b) Install it with follwoing command:
dpkg -i afb
This is what I did and it enabled X to work (both Gnome and KDE). I
still have a problem that it sticks with 1152x900 resolution although I
