We have access to parts of the official Canonical press release for
8.04. It would be helpful if LoCos could translate it and pass it on
to local media outlets once Canonical releases it officially.
Translations are already in the works for the following languages:
French
Spanish
German
Czech

I missed the last meeting, so I thought I'd pipe in with some of my thoughts.
Martin mentioned contacting Canonical about marketing. Gerry Carr
might be person to get in touch with.
Also, Gerry has said he should have a press release available soon
that can be passed out to LoCos for translation.
fridge.ubuntu.com/event is showing a blank screen again.
Webmaster has been notified.

We can do the contact form on the fridge without a code change. You
can see it under the Site Building category.

Like mentioned previously, requiring someone to subscribe to a list to
submit a story is not good. I can't think of a good solution for
that.

Don't mean to reply to my own mail, but I stopped by
#canonical-sysadmin and asked them about the spam. They said that all
list mail gets filtered through spamassassin. Not much else we can do.

Yeah, I need to look into that. Most of the spam doesn't get through
because spammers don't realize you have to sign up for the list, so I
just reject them. But some have figured it out.

Should we set up another meeting? Maybe to discuss what LoCos are
planning on doing for Hardy release parties and install fests? Maybe
help out some of the newer teams with ideas?
