Hi all
I just observed a Blackburnian warbler feeding a huge cowbird chick. I’ve never
seen this before- it’s quite distressing. I guess it’s good for the cowbird,
bad for the Blackburnian!

Nari was also a long-time participant in the Ithaca Christmas bird count for
area IV, usually counting along Dodge Road and Ellis Hollow Road. He was an

There are 12 very tan Sandhill cranes in the southeast corner of the Sandhill
crane unit, visible from Vandyne Spoor Road. Very active, flying up and down.
Would these be last year’s young? Only one appeared gray. 5:20 pm, Sunday.

At our feeders this morning- 11 purple finches (7 bright males and 4 females),
