To add to this: Upstream has released a version with the fix included (0.29).
The relation to herbstluftwm is via testsuite (it uses python-xlib for tests),
there is no runtime-dependency in that case

FWIW I would be very happy if this could be made alongside moving the
package to the emacs-addons-team. If you're interested please set

Concerning $GIT_EXEC_PATH .. is that supposed to be a $PATh like variable? as
in can it have more than one path (colon-separated)? I have currently two
