Subtle noise is over used IMO. And this is print design, so once it's printed it won't really add anything, it might even make it look like it's been printed badly. On 14/02/2011, at 1:07 PM, Alexander King wrote: > maybe appy a subtle noise effect :) heaps of people use it, it makes it look >

I was actually saying Thorsten was sounding arrogant and that your call was fair. On 11/02/2011, at 9:00 PM, Pumpkin Lord wrote: > @Thorsten and Angus - Sorry guys if that turned out like that, but it > wasn't meant to be any rude or arrogant. If that was the case, then I > wouldn't be trying to

I think it was a fair call. Wether you meant it, or not, you came across as a little bit rude/arrogant. On 11/02/2011, at 8:36 PM, Thorsten Wilms wrote: > On 02/11/2011 10:04 AM, Pumpkin Lord wrote: > >> I think this artwork >> sum up everything I think about your feedback: >> http://theal.devi

The kerning is off. I think if you're using Photoshop, you can fix it by changing the kerning from 'metrics' to 'optical' and that should fix it. :) On 11/02/2011, at 8:04 PM, Pumpkin Lord wrote: > @Thorsten step by step in short. > > - Setting ubuntu in bold is much more effective to me, and i

Yeah, after lining the two up, the orange adds a nice definition. The only thing I would change is the text (get involved, explore and install, etc.). Something about the way it's layed out feels a bit off. I think the two columns should be more even, and you could try bumping up the line height

Can I add that you could try making the orange icons cut-outs of the white, like the ubuntu logo. On 11/02/2011, at 7:50 AM, Pumpkin Lord wrote: > I made some small modifications on my last addition. Some color > changes, and now with more pictogram-alike look. Maybe a bit more > official-ish fe

It's a great concept. I think you need something that's more definitively Ubuntu, though. And the design should be as timeless as the cover itself. Sent from my iPod On 08/02/2011, at 12:41 AM, Pumpkin Lord wrote: > Ofcourse, I will keep developing Ubuntu DVD covers in the future, but > I jus

I probably prefer that one, I'll have a go at making a modified version of yours when I have a few moments. Regarding the linux thing, I just don't want to annoy Richard Stallman :P On 07/02/2011, at 7:06 PM, Pumpkin Lord wrote: > Ok, here's the deal. > > @Thirukumaran K - I'm not sure that so

The tux logo seems completely irrelevant to me, and I'm not sure how relevant the gnome one is, either. I would try using less effects (gradients, shadows, etc.). I think it should also be more visually relevant to the Ubuntu website. Just some thoughts, great work, though. On 07/02/2011, at 9
