So back to my problem. Our mail server hangs when we are at the office.
Requiring reboot several times a day.
But when we go home and connect either through the public internet or via VPN
it does not hang...

I presume it is a windows VM thing. My son Frank installed it and he likes
windows stuff.
I have a large mailbox and IMAP.
