Had the same issue with pounds and Euros. "24€" is flagged sometimes
as a policy violation.

It looks like the '£' update is failing on all attempts now. We are having
to use 'GBP' instead of '£' which is causing further problems as we will be
hitting character limits on the ads. Can someone from google please respond

I've just been trying to get to the bottom of some errors that are
sporadically thrown up when including prices in adparam.insertionText - an
example of the code is below.
The update will succeed 3 out of 4 times but on the 4th time the following
error will be thrown :
