Joshua,
I'm interested in your setup. I'm using shark too. how did you setup your server free
data movement and what are the license requirements. Can you backup from to disk?
Does it support Disk device class?

The reason why we need to backup to disk is because of backup concurrency. Unlike
tape drives that are limited to number of mounts. What are the license requirements of
that setup from ESS to LTO tape. Did you use TDP for Hardware? Did you require any
data mover device?

ok. I'm about to be scared. I'm having the impression that SANERGY is backup for
test environment not Prod. Does anybody else have this setup on their production.

It is fine now. I just found out that you need to hardcode the port number on the
dsmserv.opt and not just on the set it on the server status.
Thanks

does the change only affect the new incrementals?
Are my old backup versions bound to my old policy?

multiple node concurrently backing up. I guess what
I'm looking for is something like Disk device class. Can SANergy support the Disk
Device class or is it also Sequential File Devices. What's the difference? Any
opinion would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

and tape. Is it possible to do
Server free backup to disk. Is it File device class or Disk device class?
I know this is not IBM hardware support support, but does anybody know if 2109 can
function as the SAN datagateway datamover for TSM?
Thank you in advance.

Hi TSMers,
To simplify my previous question on Server free requirements, is server free available
in TSM for AIX yet? I don't see it in TSM for AIX documentation.
Thanks again

Thanks for responding.
The link

confirms that Server free is not supported on AIX.

hi folks,
Is there any way to move an archive directly to a backupset without going to the
process of "retrieving the archive and generating the backupset".
thanks in advance.

Hello TSMers,
What's the latest on SANergy running on AIX 5.2? I've searched the support site and
all I got was the flash last October 2002. And it included only AIX 5.1. Was there
any announcement yet? Or is it a dead end?
Thanks in advance.

2105 fibre ESS diskpool.
3494 library, 3590 fibre drives.
I will also be upgrading SDD drivers so it will not be an issue. Just concerned about
TSM.
Thanks in advance.
