I have a TSM server with 99.4 % Pct Util and I need to add more space.
The TSM DBs are on mirrored volumes and I don't have enough spare space to
create additional mirrored volumes. I'd like to break the volumes and then
add more space but I can't afford any down time for this.

Folks,

Steps executed are below for FYI. It turns out the del dbc
command is no longer available on TSM 5.1. I decided not to delete the
mirrored files using rm on the AIX just in case.

If your an IBMer you'd have a configuration price list.
But I've worked for IBM and I've had to do pricing and points for their
products. Basically there are clip levels for the points. x number of

Folks,
My Oracle backup started failing two days ago.
The Oracle RMAN (Recovery Manager) backup log file shows the following

This is strange because the primary storage pool set for the system is a
disk pool, however,

Yup. I know but the weird thing is, all the backup from this machine goes to
a disk pool, not a tape pool. The data only gets migrated to tape if the
diskpool gets full... but max tape mounts for the secondary storage pool is
defined on the TSM. Plus there were no errors on the TSM activity log o
we have a TSM on a AIX backing up a Windows clustered server, C1 & C2.
C2 failed and all the services went over to C1. When we fixed C2 we wanted
all the resources and services to go back to the way it was.
When C2 failed, the shared drive went over to C1 and the client scheduler

I'm going to go through the upgrade next week and I'd like to know the
gotcha's that you encountered. Mind telling me how long it took you to get
to the pop-up, or what your estimated time to install is?

Folks,
We'd like to use TSM SANergy to improve the backups of our Oracle DB and
Domino DB using TDP. Can this be done?

one additional point:

I just recently added an expansion frame to my 3584 library and i didn't
have to define anything on TSM or on the AIX box it's running on to

I'm going to do an upgrade on my AIX and TSM system on Tuesday. I'll give
you a detailed experience as I go through it just for those of you who are
curious.
I'm also practice making running procedures for all my activities with
detailed steps which I will share with anyone who will be interested.
Another option is to bump-up your ethernet... are you already running a
gigabit ethernet? We've actually bumped up the TSM server and the large
unix clients to Gigabit Ethernet, and it improved the throughput of the
backup.
