Hi all,
I'm trying to link to a TSM DB using ADO through TSM ODBC driver.
When I'm linking a TSM table into Access, everything works perfectly
well and I get prompted for the UserID/Password pair.
On the other hand, when using Microsoft ADO (ActiveX Data Objects)
I get a "Catastrophic error" whe
Did you check the results are as expected with the
GUI ?
You didn't include any MGMT class in your sample.
Did you (and skipped it in your sample) or is it
on purpose ?
What version of TSM client/server do you use ?
I personnally already got into such a trap. But it
worked normally as I restart
Michael,
The version number is also written in the "About" box in
TSM utilities. Do you have the correct number in that box ?
You might not have disabled all running TSM services before
the upgrade (TSM Sched, Acceptor, remote client agent, adsm
scsi driver, aso).
As for the password expiration
I've gone through a bare-metal-restore of an NT server.
I've had to restore it from a separate partition, without
the need of a repair disk (that's the goal).
You may follow the instructions in that red book:
"SG24-2231-00 Windows NT Backup and Recovery with ADSM"
Everything is clear and that's

TSM with a silent login (i.e. passing UID and PWD
directly to the driver). I get a "Catastrophic failure"
and I don't know why. I've submitted that problem to
Tivoli so far. I get no

Hi,
I installed TSM 3.7.3 on an NT4 server (SP4). I'm using an older manual
drive,
the HP35470A, on which I upgraded the microcode (only one was available
at
HP's: 12.09). It is connected to an Adaptec 2904CD SCSI PCI adapter.
If I make backups to tape with TSM, the device's "Problem" led blinks
You cannot backup those DBs since they are locked by SYSTEM on NT.
Instead you must backup the backup copy of them (usually in the
system32/wins/backup folder as for WINS). You'll have to setup WINS
to make an automatic backup of its DB in WINS manager. Remember
you MUST backup WINS DB manually o
