TSM environment you must configure the HP
LTO drive with the "mt" driver, create mt devices in TSM, and use device
class LTO with ultrium2c compression.
I hope this helps.

Mel,
You have to use the TSM "mt" drivers rather than the HP drivers as I
mentioned below otherwise you will have GENERICTAPE.

from physical tape.
With this configuration there is no need for a second TSM server or for
any TSM server-to-server functionality since the tape library appears to
be local to TSM.
I hope this helps.

Dan,
Your basic concept of usi
ailable in the main site and could be imported into a TSM server on
the main site if necessary.
Hopefully this clears things up a bit.

Duane,
There is a product called the Clareti Storage Director that will allow
you to share a library and drives amongst multiple TSM servers.

Wanda,
This is Tom Wright from Gresham and Nick is correct. Our Clareti
Storage Director can manage the 4 small libraries off of the back-end
and present one virtual TS3500 (3584) to TSM. That would solve your
problem but would require our product to be in the mix.
If that is of interest or if
Yes as Bob said, Gresham's Clareti Backup Virtualization Storage
Director does library consolidation where it can make multiple small
libraries look like one or fewer libraries to TSM. This is also helpful
if you have multiple de-dup boxes since it can consolidate them into one
or fewer virtual li
things.
The ability to communicate with multiple ACSLS servers lends itself nicely for
communicating with both a local and remote library to improve business
resilience. One copy can go to the local library and a second copy can go to a
remote library.
