Another way to sync up the owner list is to go to each library client and
run an audit libr libname checkl=barcode. That forces each library client
to go to the library manager and in turn the library manager will update
the owner list.

Zoltan,
The majority of our TSM servers are AIX and we do have a setup where we
share multiple library clients with one library. When we have IBM CEs
come out and replace drives, they just change the serial number on the new
drive to match the old drive they are replacing. Apparently there is a
manager so that TSM would run an IOCTL and rescan the library and pick up
the new drives.

Add in around 200+ storage agents.

Re: [ADSM-L] Question on TS
Yes, we only define one path per drive. We are NOT defining paths for
every rmt device. So, each library client has 72 drives defined to it,
with mulit-pathing, and we only define a path for one of the rmt devices.
Same holds true for all storage agents as well.

Just wanted to get feedback on what others are doing in terms of their TSM
environments where library sharing, IBM libraries, and drives are
involved. We have the following setup in one of our major datacenters:
14 (with growth projected up to 19 or 20) TSM instances running on p570's
with AIX 5.

Gerald,
If there is more than one channel allocated for the recovery process, then
it is possible that a restore will use more than one drive. For example, if
you allocate 4 channels to the recovery of the database, have 4 drives, and
all of the data is spread across 4 tapes, then you might run i
This error message means that the user account running TSM does not possess
a required NT user right/privilege for performing the current operation. I
would check the access rights for that particular user and make sure they
have access to all the files. Hope this helps.

Daniel,
Do you have the TCPClientaddress set to the IP address of the client
server? This is located in the dsm.opt file (or dsm.sys) on the client
machine.
