LTO2 archive tapes and moving
them to LTO4 tapes in this Encrypted storage pool.

Even though TSM does not keep this info, I can get a report of "mount history"
from my IBM 3584 web utility. This shows the history of the tape.
Before upgrading to LTO4, I used LTO2 tapes for over 5 years with very few
issues. They have outlasted the drive technology.

As David has suggested, I have also had success with disconnecting and
reconnecting 3584 library network cable.

Richard,
The following command will reclaim tapes when they are 70% empty/30% full and
run for 5 hours. It will not alter stgp settings.
As other have suggested, I run this in an admin schedule.
Reclaim stgp 'tapepoolname' th=70 du=300
