When they first incorporated DB2 into TSM IBM used to have a dedicated DB2
support group to help with these issues. I'm wondering if they were let go
during the last IBM purge?

No wonder TSM customers have been migrating to other solutions.

Ditto. TSm development isn't what it used to be.

If that dosent work try dsmj after exporting your display variable.

It means if you want to utilize the robust features of system z tape
management system (DFSMS) you probably would need to replace TSM on
zOS with a backup sution that uses FICON. FDR/UPSTREAM or something
like that.

So can you publish the presentation url?

Yes but you need to use TKLM or its MF equiv to be of value unless you
use an appliiance.

I would consider migrating to FDR/UPSTREAM in that regard.

Are there any tested proceedural steps to using this feature?
There doesn't seem to anything in the IBM Technical Library.

Check if your drives are zoned properly ( I assume) you are using a SAN to
connect your TSM server to your library.

Are these single or multi-instance TSM server builds?

I think you may be the first shop to attempt this. Good luck!

Yes.
But to be sure open up a ticket with TSM support to verify this. We did this
using TSM v 6.2.x and it worked fine.

Carlo,
Since you used lanfreecommmethod tcpip, I assume the datya flows from the
tsm client to the storage agent proxy via he network correct?

Well,
I have 5 TSM instances living in the same LPAR and all the drives are
defined to all TSM instances. Library sharing is turned on.

I have to agree with Paul.
If you don't mind supporting TSM on Linux then try it.
I can tell you this, alot will depend on how well IBM will support TSM on
Linux.
You didn't mention how many TSM instances you are supporting on AIX.
If you want to compare notes send me a note offline.

Do yourself a favor and don't use the admin center.
Try a third party tool like StorServer Console, TSM Manager or just use the
command line.
Just came back from a TSM user group and saw ServerGraph which looks
promising.
