You can use your 3583 by redefining it as a manual library.
Edit the devconfig file and redefine the library as manual - you will also
need to delete all the drive definitions except for one. Then use tapeutil
to move the db tapes between the IO slots and the drive.
eg: DEFINE LIBRARY LIB_

Does anyone know if it is possible to specify multiple filesystems for
restore using a single command line instruction. It can be done from the

We've just set up a new TSM infrastructure with disk (random) and SATA
primary stgpools and a virtual volume copy stgpool. (Server 5.3.2 on AIX)
Reclamation of the virtual volumes appears to work in the offsite manner ie
we see multiple mounts of SATA volumes to build the new virtual volu
