The point system IBM uses for pricing is confusing.
A quote has 40 points shown for the Exchange protect agent maintenance, 275
points for the TSM server component maintenance.
Do these points represent a quantity of one each?

In a manual tape drive arrangement, if TSM calls for a tape and you don't
mount it within the timeout period, TSM will mark it read only.

I test backing up and restoring NT folders that are shared.
The restore brought the folders and data back just fine. However, the shares
were not restored. Is there a way to do this?

Sorry. By "undocked" I mean the user is carrying it around the office or the
nation disconnected from any link to TSM.
The user's PC keeps trying to connect via VPN.

Have TSM on Windows box with tape library here at data center. Would like to
place similar unit at remote site and have copypool kept there with data
center tapes updating those at the remote site overnight. Com would be VPN
using mapped network drive.

I stopped using the TSM Oracle Agent...very complicated...and am just doing full
exports to a file server. TSM then backs up the export.
Mgmt. says, "Hey, you're not getting the full benefit of a backup with redo logs, etc."
Please comment. Should I be using RMAN instead of export?

denied by the operating system due to permission"
This occurs even with blank password (no permission requirement) on the
target.
