Becky,
yes, we use it in our environment and works exactly as designed; SAP backup
(brbackup/brarchive) utilities manage backup IDs
and delete apropriate ones according to the option MAX_VERSIONS in an
initSID.utl file (see below).

You can avoid this behavior by setting environmental variable DSM_LOG (f.e.
in user's profile for particular users, or in system wide profiles like
/etc/environment) pointing to the directory where your (let's say main)
dsmerror.log resides..

Geoff,
I am running several Tru64 clients, without any problems.
CLI works ok ?
Have you tried to redirect the GUI client to another X server ?

if you have RECLAIM parameter set on 100 in your copy sequential stg pool,
reclamation on volumes in that pool shouldn't occur at all.. Or am I missing
something ?

Yes.
Issue "MOVE MEDIA * STG=* wherestatus=full", f.e. This will check all full

TSM server is still waiting for
mount of a scratch media, eventhough the volume is already mounted.
I've tried to install TSM 5.2 even, but the result is the same.
It seems to me, that there must be a problem with device drivers, but
maybe I'm missing something.
Any ideas ?

o the tape (label, data), nothing happens. Tape just sits in the
drive.
I can see NO errors both in Activity log and Event log.

Hi Pablo,
thanks for your reply.
To aswer your question - yes, before I've tried to label volumes, the
library inventory was empty due to the fact that I removed library
definitions from TSM several times and that causes library inventory to
be emptied.

Hi all,
can a format type of "drive" in LTO device classs definitionaffect media
operation, such as label, r/w, etc in a way, that these operations are
never performed ?
I mean, is it necessary set LTO-2 drives as "ultrium2[c]" format in
devclass definition ?
