Hello TSM's,
I have a copypool volume with nothing on it, meaning q content - no
data. When I try to #delete volume xxx discarddata=yes - it returns
- volume contains data. When I use move data - it returns - volume
contains no data. DRM says it is in vault status.
I would like to make

Rule of thumb - Always stay 1 version behind the latest and pay special
attention to the release notes to the newer version and see if that
applies to your environment or not. If useful then attempt to upgrade,
otherwise stay where you are at until all the bugs are fixed.

Hi Adrian,
I recently migrated TSM 5.1.6.2 from old to new hardware with AIX as O/S. My
sequence to bring it to the latest level is:
1. Upgrade from 5.1.6.2 to base 5.2.0
2. Then from 5.2.0 to 5.2.4 with latest patch
3. Then from 5.2.4 to 5.5 with latest patch.

Perform an audit library with checklabel=barcode first, if needed
checklabel=yes. I have seen 3584 library sometimes does weird things,
maybe the physical volumes in the library and the volhist are not in
sync.

I agree "q pr" will detail which drives in use, as well as I have seen
that certain processes will "reserve" the drive, cancelling the session
or process will release the drive.

I find this strange that you don't have any processes running at this
time where you have 3 TSM instances. Any luck with getting this info
from the web interface, I highly doubt because that is just sugarcoating
the commands with java.

I thought you were talking about the running TSM admin commands via the
web interface, instead you were talking about the library interface and
you are correct about it.
