Hello,
Within tivoli the cleaning frequency option can be specified as
"asneeded" does any one know if the TSM can handle the "asneeded' option
with LTO2 drives? Here are the system specs:
TSM : 5.2.3.1
OS : Windows 2000 Server (with IBM LTO2 drivers)
Library : Qualstar TLS8433

Has anyone figured out how to calculate the amount of space expired
after the expiration process runs? I was looking through the summary
tables at the expiration events and doesn't show the bytes expired. Any
help would be great. Thanks.

Any thoughts would be great. TIA.

Del,
It looks like our particular problem is with the machine itself.
I guess the origin of the question start because, is backing up the SQL
databases straight to tape the correct thing to do? What is everyone
else doing?
Thanks,

I currently run a TSM 5.1.7. And anyone had any problems going from
5.1.x server to 5.2.2 server?
Also, the current 5.1.x clients shouldn't have problems connecting to
the 5.2.2 server correct?
TIA.

Recently I had a tape get destroyed in a tape drive. I did the typical
procedure in the Tivoli Admin Manual to restore the volume.
All the tapes specified in the restore vol x prev=yes where brought
on site. However after we did the restore I got a warning "ANR1256W"

For our DRM procedures we have a script that runs nightly that does a

I would like to reduce the windows which it takes the copy pool to be

We are actually doing this now. The copy pool is made from the disk
pool. After this is done, it goes out to the primary tape pool. Thanks
for the comments.

Hello,
I have a question for the TSM gurus out there. I need to move a tape
library from one SCSI controller to another. What is the best way to
accomplish this? Last time I added a library and created new device
classes and pool and moved the data from the old pools to the new. I

Terry,
Yes! I'm glad to hear someone else is having problems too. I've had a
number of drive failures occur too. Right now I'm working with the
vendor to resolve these issues.
