Hi,
maybe the first file on the tape spans/continues from another volume.

Hi,
do you checkin with barcode or reading the label? If the former, maybe the
tapes aren't labelled? Try label libv with overwrite=no.

But they could have been checked out of TSM with remove=no and could
possibly still be defined as storage pool volumes and still contain data.
Always "know" the TSM state of tapes that you're going to do mtlib stuff to,
like changing categories.

Try putting the dsmc sched command in an executable file (script) and then
calling the file with nohup.

I have a recommendation that striping has little effect because "the server
I/Os are random and read / writes occur in small increments (4-6Kb I/Os)."
This was an ADSM and not a TSM recomendation.
Personally I hate striping as it's so hard to manage the disks when you want
to move stuff around.
Hi Joshua,
I've got 34 db volumes and 4 log volumes and show threads shows me 38
LvmDiskServer threads
then I've got 19 disk stgp volumes and 19 DiskServerThread threads.

I asked this question in the past on the list, the answer was basically that
the select for events doesn't function like a select, but just like a query.
If you add dates in where clauses it works like a query event with dates.
Not very chic.

I can't think how you'd do it without a shell script. Try this (not tested!)
for proc in `dsmadmc -se=xxx -id=xxx -password=xxx -tab "select '#!#!',
process_num from processes where process='Space Reclamation'" | awk '/^#!#!/
{printf("%d\n", $2)}'`
do
dsmadmc -se=xxx -id=xxx -password=xxx -tab
Hello,
I have noticed that the schedule_name field in the summary table does not
always have an entry in it. I think I've narrowed this down to the fact that
3.1 clients fill this in and 3.7 and 4.1 clients leave it blank. This would
seem to be caused by the RESOURceutilization parameter causing
have the capabilities to do so.

Hi,
if you use the SQL interface and SELECT from SESSIONS then the SESSION_ID

Where are you exactly stuck? You should be looking at maybe the sessions
table or events table (ugh) and at the archive of this list which has
recently had a number of examples of this sort of script.

Hi
does anyone know what "Storage Pool Data Format: Native" on a query stgp
means? I just noticed this on a 4.2.1.7 Server and can't find it under 'help

Yes, we've installed it in test. Was recommended by Tivoli to install
4.2.1.8 instead of 4.2.1.7. No problems yet. Atape 6.1.9.0; atldd 5.0.7.0.

I don't think it was for any big reason, just that 4.2.1.8 tidied up
outstanding bugs more than 4.2.1.7 and was more tested(?).

Change directory to the server start directory (where the dsmserv.dsk file
is for the second server) before you start the server. Set DSMSERV_CONFIG to
point to your option file or use the -o option of dsmserv to point to your
option file.

I had this problem, specify * instead of the domain name and it will import
all the domains on the export volume (you probably just exported the one
domain anyway?)

I upgraded to 4.2.1.8 and noticed this phenomena for Q PR on a move data:
Process Process Description Status

>I've run a reclaim on a sequential stgpool which has complete, except I

>threshold, anyone know why this would be.
Check the access parameter of the volume is not unavailable.
>Also why are some of our volumes listed as 0.
You can't unless it's something obvious. I raised an enhancement request for
this. There MAY be something written sometime in version 5 apparently.

Try running an FTP to get network performance without TSM.
Then try running a selective backup of one big file (like 1 or 2 GB) to
eliminate client processing.
13,3 Mb is megabits.

One could always export a node's data and import it on a different TSM
server. There you can change the password without anyone knowing.

I just noticed this information message in TSM server 5.1.6.1: ANR1639I.
This seems to be an indication that a nodes IP address has changed. Look at
the last three fields in a q node f=d. This message could then be sent
to your monitoring software or you could run a daily script against the
