Is anyone out there running a 3.1 tsm client of HPUX 10.20 with a 4.1 TSM
Server? If so, any issues I need to be aware of? I know IBM does not
support it, but we have a handful of HPUX clients that cannot go to 11.x,
and therefore cannot go higher than 3.1 on the TSM client. Any comments

stems. The TSM server is running TSM 4.1.5 server software on an
AIX 4.3.3 maint level 9 system. One of the clients also uses the SQL
Backtrack for Oracle. I have not seen any problems and have been running at
this level for the past 2 weeks.

Anyone ever see this error:
ANS1149E No domain available for incremental backup
I have verified that the server has a domain for this node.
Any other thoughts?

We use to have an ACSLS library attached to our server, but it was removed
at some point before I took over duties. Now, we still have the library and
libvolumes defined on the server, but I cannot get either to go away. I
tried to checkout libvol, and the command hangs. I cannot delete the

I have a server that I want to incrementally backup everything except 3 directories
and all their sub-dirs content. Then, I want to just backup those files and
directories once a week. Any ideas for the best way to approach this?

I have noticed that the SESSIONS table has changed from TSM v4.1 to TSM v5.1.
I do not see MEDIA_STATE anymore. Does anyone know what that translates to in the new
table definitions?
Thanks,

Is there some configurable parameter to tell TSM to end a backup after either so
many retries of 'tape not available', or after so much time on inactivity. Apparently
what sometimes happens now is that the jobs continue to run when TSM has said there
are no more tape drives available. Howeve
I know that you can EXPORT NODE, and then IMPORT NODE on the new server. But, if you
do not have the POLICY set up, it has errors. Does anyone know the correct procedure
for moving a client from one server to another?

Besides re-installing the software, what is the easiest way to start with a clean,
default TSM database?
Thanks,
