Can we use AS/400 as TSM server, I heard only ADSM 3.1.2 will support AS/400
and
the new TSM can not be used on AS/400.

Hi All,
It might sound simple for some, but I'm having doubt. To my understanding
the whole policy and management classes are controlled by these 5 options
under Policy Domains and backup Copy Groups
- Backup Retention (Grace Period)
- Versions Data Exists
- Versions Data Deleted
- Retain Extra V
Looks like [line6.tar] is failing, it's saying backup is complete but the
file size for every version is Zero. Could it be the size? How can I
resolve this problem?

We have ADSM Server for AIX-RS/6000 - Version 3, Release 1, Level 2.40 using
Magstar 3570 with two drives [total 19 carriages]
Currently we have 60 GB of incremental data, to backup daily. Because of not
having enough space on 3570 we have limited the backup to 7 version only.
Management is asking
Why it's giving [Server out of data storage space] error and skipping for
some files.
I have more than 8 tapes as scratches. Surprisingly the next schedule went
through with no problem!!

Is it possible to do archive on server level and not client level?
I want to archive the whole primary pool.

On one of our implementations we have a storage pool which is getting
refreshed everyday, full backup. and we need
to archive each day of that primary pool and save it for 30 days. The copy
pool will be having same retention as primary, right?

What is Backup set? I heard that form someone else too. I'm using ADSM
Version 3, Release 1, Level 2.40, dose this version supports Backupset?
Because I could not find any help on Backupset within this version.

Currently we have ADSM which is using magstar 3570C as backup device. This
device has two derives rmt3.smc and rmt4.smc.
Both of those drives are assigned to 3570CLIB automated library. We have
another 3570B magstar with another two drives [rmt1.smc, rmt2.smc] which

We are not able to checking or label the tapes. Even Audit is failing.

How do I add DATE in Archive description. I want my archive to hold brief
description of which archive is and
to display the archived date and time. i.e.
if you go to retrieve you see "POTLINE System on May 13 2001, Time:

When I login if I use any administrator user it logs in without any password
or even if I enter any password it gets in
