We ran into exactly the same issue with our TS3500 tape library a few years
ago. Unfortunately, the tech had to pull the drives and put the empty slots
back in and let them be scanned so the library could see they were empty. Then
he was able to put the drives in again.

If dsmc restore is timing out, SQL is likely to be even worse. I would try
a QUERY BACKUP with dsmc (I've never seen that time out, even when restore
is), then create some lists for a -filelist restore.

hub server, without having any other role (except maybe lib manager and/or
config manager) ?
In that case, how would I consider the licence for this server, with no client
registered ?
