Thanks for reply Grigori,
I do audit volume S:\TSM_FILE_DEVCLASS\16AA.BFS
It's success
I do audit volume S:\TSM_FILE_DEVCLASS\16AA.BFS fix=yes
Success too with no error.
But

Hi Mickael!
Audit the volume like this:
Audit vol S:\TSM_FILE_DEVCLASS\16AA.BFS
This will show you the files which are corrupted on the volume. It could
be that the volume was corrupted after a successful backup stgpool, so
first try a restore:
Restore volume S:\TSM_FILE_DEVCLASS\16AA.BFS

Hi Mik,
In order to preserve the existing backuped data on the volume, I can suggest
you this :
1) Put the tape in readOnly mode:
upd vol Volume_Name access=reado
2) Protect current valid datas :
Move data Volume_name
--> It move all good datas, even the ones that have not been copied yet.

Dear W,
Thanks for the reply. i'm on a steep learning curb with NDMP. i followed
these instructions which were provided by another adsm-l member.

I everybody,
By curiosity i want to understand how backupset work
If i do
generate backupset node_name prefix_name devclass=LTO_CLASS_1 scratch=yes
datatype=all
The client node_name have all of his data on one tape ?
If ihave a second TSM and i do a
define backupset node_name prefix_name devc
Backupset is nothing but an instant archival. Means if we want to retrieve
data node wise/file space wise it will back up all active versions into set
of tape/s
So that we can restore without installing TSM server. Only client is
required.

Kiran

Thanks for the reply Kiran,
If i understand what you say
On my server i launch a
generate backupset node_name prefix_name devclass=DISK datatype=all
(The devclass=DISK was stocked on NAS)
I want to generate a backupset for each node, create daily or monthly and all
stocked on a NAS (i don't k
Yep, setting up NDMP is like trying to drive through an obstacle course with a
blindfold on.
I think your dataformat is wrong on the DEFINE DATAMOVER.
You want NDMPDUMP, not NETAPPDUMP, as your box isn't a NetApp.

DATAFormat (Required) Specifies the data format that is used by
Mik,
If you are thinking about performing regular backups sets for nodes I suggest
you consider using the "retention=<#days>" option to control their expiration.
This way over time the old backup sets will automatically be removed.

Hi Rick, thanks for reply^^
Yes it's exactelly what i want to do.
For exemple i do:
generate backupset node_name prefix_name devclass=DISK datatype=all retention=15
In this case the backupset was conserved for 15Days and after that he was
delete.
Can i do a script to generate the backupset al
Hi guys,
We just started a project around consolidated backup of WAN-connected branch
offices to a central TSM server. As always distant nodes, the first problem to
cope with is how to get the first full backup of the node without waiting for
days, weeks or months. We usually do that by sending
Hi,
does anybody here ever made this installation?
I've tried a few approaches but no success. Below a description
of my last attempt. Any clue?...
# start command line sequence
tar xvf 6.2.5.0-TIV-TSMBAC-LinuxX86.tar
apt-get install alien ksh
alien --script gskcrypt64-8.0.14.6
Yes, additionally if you add all of the target clients to a node-group you can
just specify the node-group name instead of the editing it every time a client
needs to be addred or removed from the backup set task. You would simply add or
remove the node from the node-group.

Back to the original question. You've got to fix that original Solaris
server somehow. You don't need to access the whole tape library, just
one LTO4 drive, and then mount tapes manually.
The tapes themselves are utterly useless without the original TSM
Database. There is no way to reconstruct the
