Hi Wanda,
It could be caused by a premature termination of a prior backup.
You could check the DP/Exchange log and Windows Event Log to see
if there are any signs of a premature failure just prior
to the backups starting to fail. Look for a missing backup

Guys
A quick one..
Had an admin ping me saying he's installed the 6.3.1.0 client on an AIX box
and dsmcad is missing. Before I spend too much time fault finding this
one, I assume is SHOULD be there?
Thanks
Steven
Hi Steven,
AFAIK it should be there. Maybe the symlink from
/opt/tivoli/tsm/client/ba/bin/dsmcad to /usr/bin/dsmcad is missing?

TSM Server 6.3.3.100 under AIX 7.1, TSM Client 6.2.4 for AIX 5.3-12-06 (latest).
I have tried to install TSM Client 6.4.0 under AIX 5.3 - minimal AIX version is
6.1.
What is the latest TSM Client for AIX 5.3?
Thank you very much in advance.

I had exported a node to tape, and now no longer need those volumes as export.
The goal: return them to SCRATCH.
Thru TSM library, I got an ANR8443E cannot be assigned to SCRATCH. ANR8443E
advises making them PRIVATE.
I was successful in marking them as PRIVATE.
But, I get the same ANR8443E

You are the second person to make such a comment when documentation I have
found says exactly the opposite. With AME, the TSM server mana

That's odd. On page 23 it didn't mention anything about a robot being
in the AME workflow. Might it be on another page?
In the Redbook, AME is on pages 34-37. There is no mention of the
library itself being in the data key workflow.
I don't know what to tell you about the conflict. All I can
True, those pages don't mention a tape library. In this document on the
