Client version 6.1.3.0
Windows 2003 sp2 64 bit.
Client is an exchange 2007 server.
We were practicing a bare metal restore last week, and this is what the
exchange admin told me happened.
1. pull working hd and replace with unformatted hd to simulate total hd failure.
2. install windows 2003 64
Probably to do with Exchange and not the OS. If you do not join the
machine to the domain before the restore it should join the domain when
restarted.

Hi Gary,
Somewhere along the line did you do a dcpromo before doing the restore?
I recommend reviewing TSM technote 1164812 if you have not done so already.
This technote provides detailed instructions for doing this kind of
restore. The technote can be found here:
http://www.ibm.com/support/doc
Check step 2. If the server was built and joined to the domain with its
original name the server will create a new password when it joins the domain.
Later when the system is restored it will try to use the old password and be
denied.
Our solution is to not join the domain, therefore not reset
Well, I feel silly -
Windows test TSM server 5.5.4 on Win2K3, client 5.5.2 ON the TSM server.
Tried to set up
COMMMETHOD SHAREDMEM in dsm.opt
Have SHMPORT set to 1510 on both server and client.
The TSM server is currently running under my own account.
When I start the client i get a v
"Nevermind".
I still feel silly.
Left SHAREDMEM out of the server options file.
