Maturity, flexibility and reliability of AIX and POWER architecture in my

Hi *SMers,
Try to learn the ISC on request from a customer. (Don't know why).
But I want to get "Access status" or "q vol f=d" from a tape volume in
ISC. Does anyone know where to go to find that?.

Wanda,
The way Storserver scheduling works is that you create a schedule, assign the
nodes to it, and Storserver uses the "maximum concurrent backups" setting to
keep as many plates spinning as you told it, until they are complete. That

First, you need to measure the speed of tape output when doing migrations,
disk-to-tape, and some sort of tape-to-tape processes. I found with my setup

I studied this in some detail as it obviously comes up often in my practice.
If one reads the IBM documentation on the latest x3850/x3950 M2 one will
observe that the data paths within that architecture are actually faster than
in the latest pSeries hardware. That said, Windows or Linux ineffi
Hi Christian,
I"m not sure what you mean by "Access status" - if you mean q status,
some of the information is in the server properties notebook. From any

I did try userid=anonymous and password=email,

Actually a fairly fun read. Way cool technology. I'm sure it will show up in
the pSeries soon anyway so the hardware issues become further blurred.

Hi Gretchen,
The ftp site ftp.software.ibm.com should not be requiring a user
name and password. I just checked the ftp site after seeing your message
and it looks like the ftp site is running into a problem. I don't see any
