Migration problem

Hi TSM-ers! Today I came in the office and customers complained about failing backups. I checked the TSM server and noticed that the diskpool was full. Migration was running, but only two processes at the same time. A migration starts, migrates a file an then completes successfully, another one sta

Join the club. I am beginning to wonder if anyone is successfully using V6.1, trouble-free. Monday I decided to put my 6.1.2 server into production and am wondering if this was a really bad decision. I have had to bounce it 5-times due to it simply hanging/going non-responsive eventhough the onl

The diskpool was full, but high migration is 5%. A low highmig threshold could easily start off migrations that run just one file then quit, especially if there are large files...but how did you fill the disk pool with such a low percentage for the high mig threshold? -Original Message- F

We want also to go into production with 6.1.2. All setup is finished. But with about 20 nodes (all export/import) we continously have trouble with full active log and full archivelog. Our active log size is 16Gbyte and it seems to be enough for this small setup. But sometimes the log usage explo

Good luck with the PMR. Let us know how it works out. As I understand it, currently this is WAD (requiring 2+ full backups and corresponding volhist backups before clearing the archivelog). It is also my understanding (from my last conversation with an L2 tech at IBM) that they know this i

Hi! This setting has always been this way and always did what it was supposed to do: we do want data to go to (virtual) tape a.s.a.p. But now the diskpool is filled more quickly than the migration empties it, because there are just two migrations running and they keep on finishing after just migrat

Have you ever considered increasing the high threshold? IIRC TSM won't start new automig processes when migration is already running, and will only start as many processes as there are different clients having data in your pool. Also, check out your mountlimit on the tape devclass. Furthermor
