It looks TSM 6.1.2 ignores totally type of data (compressed or not compressed).
I have tested de-duplication with client compression in TSM 6.1.2 under AIX.
De-duplication is working fine for file system in AIX.
I have tested de-duplication with compression for Windows 2003 node.
It is working fine

We're testing Cristie's new TBMR client, specifically the Linux version
(v.6.1.2-p2). Very slick product.
As you may know this version of Cristie's BMR uses the standard TSM node, as
opposed to the CBMR which uses the API client and a second TSM node. I
believe this TBMR client is based on

To do changes in TEP is not that easy and you can't do that much either.
But search for ITM instead of TSM. Then will you find much more information
how to change TEP.
