Thank you very much for information.
I have upgraded our test server from TSM 6.1.1 to TSM 6.1.2 successfully.
I have created scripts by scripts.smp as well.
I do not think that everything is fine in 6.1.2.
I couldn't explain next error message:

Geoff,
We have server to server communications between two TSM servers in
data centers about 60 miles apart. A db backup is written to a
virtual volume at the distant data center. That has eliminated moving
cartridges by courier. There is a private 10 Gb link between the
servers. The server

Hi There, I did tried that and it shows:

We ran into similar issues in 2003, we ended up putting the opt files on the c

each member of the cluster, but it prevents resources from dropping when a the

No problem :) every time I change the dsm.opt I restart the scheduler. I also
tried domain all-local data: and it backs up the whole volume excluding the
directories from the exclude.dir statements, the problem is that it doesn't use

Sorry, read the other email first. I have other server with this options, and
it works just fine:
DOMAIN ALL-LOCAL -NDS -_ADMIN: -SYS: -DATA1: -SCRATCH: -RESEARCH1: -RESEARCH3:

INCLUDE RSEARCH2:\...\* fom2class
INCLUDE RSEARCH3:\...\* fom2class
I had thought that something excluded in the domain would preempt any
other include/exclude processing.
You could try removing the Domain Statement exclude for -DATA1:.
I apologize for asking the basic stuff, but have you restarted your
scheduler since you changed the opt file?

Hi Sam,
it exists two ways to share 3494. One of them is using TSM Library Sharing. One
TSM is the master and the others are Client. In this case, all TSMs share the
same category in the definition because you only define one library from TSM
Master,but I don't recomended that.
Second way is
We started using Virtual Volumes earlier this year for some new branch
locations with no local, long-term storage.
As it works, multiple virtual volumes will get stacked into one "real"
sequential volume.
The problem is that periodically, a reclamation process will require two
volumes that happen
Shawn,
In your virtual volume devclass definition you might try to set a
maxsize equal to that of the real storage behind it. This should
prevent stacking.

For some reason, it seems to ignore the maxsize setting. I've set the
devclass to 50G, but the volumes seem to randomly choose when they are
full. Collocation is disabled. Here is an excerpt from a q vol. Strange.

Hi everyone,
I found the following statement in an options file and was wondering if it was
even valid any longer. It was in a Windows 2003 client that has a TSM 5.5.0.0

Hey Joni,
The "testflag disablenqr" has now been replaced with "disable nqr
no/yes". The "testflag disablenqr" does nothing (see link below).

Here's a slightly off-the-wall and untested idea.Since most of your
database remains the same from day to day it is wasteful to copy it all
every time.
Take a database snapshot daily to a file volume. Copy or rename this so
that the current version always has the same name.
Run rsync
A colleague solemnly assures me that clients who use DSMCAD to manage
their schedule activities don't see any randomization in their
schedule start times. Now, on the one hand, I have so little
experience with DMSCAD, who am I to argue with someone who claims to
have experience? On the other hand,
