call IBM support. The package is obviously broken.

Paul,
NDMP uses a full/differential method which does not fit well with our
long retention requirements. Running daily differentials with a weekly

no consideration for any other backup data. The process for performing

Same here. I reported it to the IBM L2 person I have been working with on

Hi,
I am becoming slightly less befuddled by Solaris zones and TSM, but I have a
question I'm betting is quite simple:
Does TSM only use which ever dsm.sys is visible (in the appropriate
directory) from the zone it's running in?
eg. a backup started from Zone1 will always reference
/export/zones
we are trying to move data from the CX to the Centera via TSM import/export
node utility. The performance so far has been only 1GB/hr.
What are other ways that we can utilize TSM to migrate data instead of
import/export node?
We are thinking of setting the current storage pools to read only and
By "objects" do you mean what AUDITDB calls "entries in database tables". And
do the number of "blocks in bit vectors" have any effect on elapsed time?

Hi. We had a networking equipment failure yesterday that resulted in some
of the 6.1.1.1 packages being truncated as they were being uploaded to the
ftp site. We are in the process of refreshing the 6.1.1.1 packages; they
should all be available shortly.

They are there, now. Geee..are they always going to be > 1GB in
size? Especially for a 1-apar fix. It takes forever to download at
600KB/s (don't get me started about our "high speed" networkI can go
home and download via Comcast, faster!)

i'm doing a network upgrade not a media upgrade.
i run dsmupgrdx (its java script)
and i get the to point where it wants to do ssh, rsh or rexec.
i get an error claiming:
All attempts to establish a connection as the instance user ID have
failed.
does tsm have to be installed with instance owner?
Thank you for reporting this issue. The problem was caused by a
network switch failing during the upload process which left partial files
on the FTP site. The TSM server 6.1.1.1 packages have been uploaded
again. The newly uploaded packages have a timestamp of 6/12/09.
Thanks,

Hello All,
I am looking information/manuals/whatever to cover the management of VTS cache
in the VM/VSE environment.
The hardware is a 3494 B10.
The info I found so far has not been helpful.
I hope I am not addressing the wrong group!
Thanks in anticiaption.
