Hi, I have configured TSM Server 5.5.0.I want to put the recovery log mode as roll forward where we can set backup trigger for automatic backup Of database. Can we do manual db backup even if i set db backup trigger??Because sometimes I will be doing Archive in between backups very regularly

Hi Kiran, Of course, enabling automatic backups of the db by a trigger does not prevent from ding manual backups. Manual backups (or planned ones) are still the recommanded way to backup the db. The trigger should only be a safety valve. It's not mandatory to define a db backup trigger when y

Look at the "h define dbb", you can only specify a devclass, so a scratch volume would be used. (Note that you could choose different devclasses for fulls and incremental : tape devclass for fulls, and file devclass for incrementals is the idea...). -- Best regards / Cordialement / مع تحياتي E

Eric - As Andy indicates, overlapping filespace naming can result in perplexing query results. Doing 'dsmc query filespace' will help uncover such. Some other possibilities I can think of... Check that the system clock on the client is current. One should never expect that a system clock shou

Sorry, but you are "technically" wrong. NSS is a 64bit Journaling file system. See here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Novell_Storage_Services The Journalling question at hand, however, is not the file system based Journaling, as in ext3, or JFS2, or ReiserFS, but TSM client's Journaling services
