Hi Stef!
I know, but I want reports only to be generated by TSMOR, which cannot
use third-party tools.

Hi Shawn,
Thanks for your reply!
We are hoping to use few tapes for backup sets also for our Novell
mailbox backup sets.
Our backup sets (weekly and monthly) are backing up specific file spaces
for example the commands below (2 is for the file space directory we
want to backup.

Were there any other processes/sessions trying to use the volume in question?

Superficially, this seems like a case where someone performed a

I don't think one has anything to do with the other. For example, we are
performing multiple-node, point-in-time backupsets. The answer to saving
tapes is, obviously, "it depends" Basically, it will use at least one

You've got to give more information about your environment. TSM Version, OS

Trying to go from v5.2.10 to v5.4.2.0 on Solaris 8.
Installed a test server, checked licenses, and all looked ok.
Managed libraries, managed system for lan, etc.
All licenced with appropriate numbers.
Ran the upgrade to 5.4.2.0.
All looks ok, except for now it says number of
Gary, check the server requirements page for Sun Solaris... TSM 5.4 only

Shawn thanks,
We will begin testing the Point-in-Time method first to see how that
works out. We may try Multiple Node backup sets for the individual file
spaces also. ( we are only doing backup sets for 3 nodes)

Hi,
There were no other processes running, which is strange.
I have a serious issue with IBM anyhow regarding their locking of
tables/records for select queries. Updates and writes obviously, but
selects..
Thanks. I am busy trying Richard Simms advise to look for the history on
