Hi Allen,
I've been VERY pleased/surprised at how durable IBM LTOx drives have
been overall. LTO2 gave less problems than LTO1, and I think LTO3 has
had fewer problems than LTO2. For many sites they are an EXCELLENT
value and totally appropriate for TSM use.

I've never done this, so you'll have to test it for yourself to see how
practical these suggestions are:
1) If the machine is a UNIX variant, and you specify VIRTUALMOUNTPOINT
for each of the users' directories, doesn't TSM store it as though it is
a separate filespace? Then does Q OCC filespacen
I have run into an issue where the occupancy table lists archives for a
node, but the client GUI does not show any available archives. Anybody
seen this before?

user doing the l
Perhaps your problem results from what is BOUND to each management
class.
90 days is a LONG time to keep backup versions, not surprised your DB
grows.
Some things to be careful of:
1) By default, ALL directories are bound to the management class with
the longest RETONLY value, even if the FILES
This turned out to be a case of the directory (and client) no longer
existing. The archives became visible using the command line "q archive

Thanks for the reply!
