Hi Del!
I might be wrong because I do not use TDP 4 Mails by myself, I am only RTFM,
but I´d think about simplified "solution 2 by Del":

Hi,
thanks to all for the very helpful feedback!
I didn't think of using the "copy backup" for monthly and yearly
backups. That will make it a lot easier
I guess that I will use the monthly policy for copy backups
INCLUDE "*\...\copy" MONTHLY
And use a seperate dsm.opt file (dsm
Hi!
I suspect this will not work the way you like!
Running C:\Programme\Tivoli\TSM\TDPExchange\start_full_yearly_backup.cmd
will, up to my knowledge, rebind ALL existing TDP COPY backups to the
management class according to dsm.yearly.opt. Correct me if I am wrong.
This is not a problem so far.
Hi,
thanks for your posting!
This is really dangerous, I also didn't think of rebinding...
I think I'm going to use different nodes, not very beautiful but I guess
this is the method

I recommend the different-nodes notion to my users
Hello All,
I need to change the time on a Admin Schedule that controls
a Housecleaning script on a Centrally Manager Server without
changing the time on the server that manages the other(s) .
Is there a way to update a Admin schedule on Server B without
updating the time on Server A?
The script
Hi Timothy,
there is a tool called penetcfg (used in bartpe) that you can start from the
commandline of the running recovery system. It does all for you if you can't
use dhcp. But I don't know about licencing of that tool since we have no need.
Kind regards

We recently received the okay to move our current TSM Server off the MVS/ZOS mainframe to a Windows server. Along with this, we will be getting an IBM 3584 Library with (6)TS1120 Jaguar tape drives ...this will be exclusive to TSM and may be located at an offsite location (still waiting for decis

Does TSM store new metadata each time it backs up a file or does it only
keep one copy of the metadata per file.
I have a customer who is saying they backed up files on a linux box,
changed ownership of the files, backed them up again. Then he restored
the original versions of the file but got th

That is the platform the IBM business partner consultants recommended as we only have one TSM Server. I was pushing for a UNIX but that came in at a much higher price.

Hi list,
I´ve started a backup operation at a Linux client using CENT OS (similar to
RHat). The operation took 1 hour and 59 minutes to finish, and backed up 5.45GB
of data.I think this is kind of slow..considering that the LTO3
tape unit is supposed to be very fast

The TSM db is almost 20 gig with around 70 clients.
Wow...Thank you Mark & John! Both of those are going to be very helpful in my planning.

Hi list,
Does anybody know if there is a specific TSM BAC agent for the VMWare ESX
Server operating system ?
Thanks

Hello,
I have questions about server sizing and scaling. I'm planning to
transition from Networker to TSM a client pool of around 300 clients,
with the last full backup being about 7TB and almost 200M files. The
TSM server platform will be RHEL Linux.
I realize putting all of that into one TSM
Hi,
IMO you could create a new schedule with adifferent start time on the
configuration manager.
This schedule will not be active on any of the other servers. Just activate
the schedule on the local server where you need to run it.
Cheers
Marco
