Actually, this brings up a good question that I've never properly tested.
When running a scheduler service *without* an Acceptor service, then you
most definitely need to restart the service for changes to take place.
But how about when running an Acceptor service? It makes sense to me that

The Acceptor doesn't have to be restarted to pick up the changes in the

Hi Rainer,
What is it you are *really* trying to find out? Depending on the size of
your database, mining the ARCHIVES table can be a slow process when maybe
you don't quite need that level of detail?
You can find out who has any archived data by querying the occupancy
table:
query occupancy
TSM makes no distinction between hidden and visible folders. Unless you
specifically exclude a folder, TSM will back it up regardless of its
visibility.

I have been dispersing the 5.3.x client of all flavors (Windows, Linux,

Hi there,
some of you might remember that I encountered a problem when upgrading
TSM from 5.2 to 5.3. The problem was that FILE-volumes reached a premature

be full.
The cause of this is now known, and it's not a bug but still

It may depend somewhat on what version of netware you're running. The very
newest ones (nw6.5sp2/sp3) work with UTF-8 characters much better than the
older versions.

All,
I found this thread and it fits a situation I have, where I need to "freeze"
the data that has already been backed up on certain nodes, but new backup
data can be allowed to expire normally. The following post from Robin Sharp
is exactly what I was considering attempting, except that I want
