We need a solution for a rather small site and my eye fell on the
overland power loader. Capacity would be good enough and you can put 2
drives in it as well.
Is there anything that this thing does not have and a "normal" library
does have? Anyone having experience with this device?
thnx

Hello list!

Here is the select statement

current_timestamp-140 days+3 hours and current_timestamp-140 days+5

It returns exactly the weird entries

Your Select results seem to uncover Unicode in your Drives table, and your
server doesn't know how to interpret it. This might have resulted from the use
of an administrative interface (Web?) which permitted Unicode to be

I need help about SAN Data Gateway (in LTO 3583).
Accidentally the boot parameters were overwritten through the service port.
Can anybody tell what should be the boot parameters of SDG?
Thanks in advance.

Doing a selective at times like this does make people feel better, but a
full incremental will give you exactly the same ability to recover, with
less hassle...

What is the full command syntax, that i would enter from the SQL/TDP

Hello all,
I am wondering if anyone has any experience moving TSM from one AIX host to
another, both of which are attached to an ESS. My basic question is
whether it is possible to move the vpaths from the one host and to the
other & be able to retain the dsmfmt'd storage pool volumes in the

Hi Lisa
You could do this :
exportvg
unconfigure vpaths on old system
configure vpaths on new system
importvg
All your files should be there. You could even do this with the TSM
database and it should work.

Exporting your volume group is
the easiest way to move any storage that is on the ESS.
The only thing to watch out for as far as the TSM server is concerned,
is to make sure that you TSM server database and log files are not in
rootvg.

No problem, AIX makes this simpple as long as nothing of note is in the
rootvg.
FWIW, here's the process I go through:
Stop TSM
Unmount file systems
Varyoffvg the volume group
Assign the luns to the new system on the ESS
Cfgmgr on the new system to get the hdisk definitions

The server is running windows 2003 advanced. Apparently they never tried to label a

In our environment, VTL seems attractive as a destination for LanFree and

Whether I'll be able to convince management of its utility remains to be
