We recently had some connectivity issues between our 3494 ATL and the TSM AIX 5.2.1.3 server. After numerous failures, the TSM server issued the message: 5/13/2004 4:00:08 PM ANR8358E Audit operation is required for library 3494ATL. So, the question is, do I really need to run this AUDIT LIBRARY

Hi Zoltan! You should run a AUDIT LIBR 3494ATL CHECKL=B which runs in less than a minute. I can be cancelled and it will not resume. Auditing a 3494 causes TSM to re-synchronize it's inventory with the library's inventory. When you add the CHECKL=B parameter, no tapes will be mounted, unless a barc

Eric seems to have left out one item -- the audit does not run while tapes are mounted in drives, so you may have been waiting until that last tape dismounted. At least that's the effect I've seen up through TSM 5.1.6 with SCSI libraries. Tom Kauffman NIBCO, Inc -Original Message- From: Z
