Hello TSMers!
What is the easiest and quickest way to migrate TSM server form REDHAT to

Hi,
it's quite simple.
Create a separate TDPO.opt file for each Oracle database.
In the RMAN script you can specify this TDPO.opt file.
There is an example script in chapter "Using RMAN and TDP for Oracle"
of the "Tivoli Data Protection for Oracle Installation and User's Guide".

Hi Thomas Rupp,
Thank for your help. I will do as your advice.
Before, I use the default filespace name in tdpo.opt to store database that was backup

Anton,
TSM will not allow you to use more than one library per storage

We are currently investigating the use of BIG Diskpools (on Serial ATA) as a

This brings fast restore capabilities and less tape (drives and media).

Hi,
you should use RMAN to delete the old backup data of test1 (see chapter
"Removing old backups" in the "Tivoli Data Protection for Oracle
Installation and User's Guide"). This is necessary to keep the RMAN catalog and

Then you could rename the \adsmorc filespace (it now only conta

Well if you want to turn Tape Alert off you can do it in TSM (SET TAPEALERT
OFF).
We've found TapeAlert very useful for a problem we've been having with the
CM chip.
On our current system (5.1.6.4) all we see is slow performance when seeking
data on tape - if we send logs to IBM then they tell us

You do not need a TEC.
You must have a TSM server at least 5.1.8 or 5.2.2
(It may work at earlier levels, but is not supported).
If you have a WIn2K TSM server at 5.2.2 or above, TOR is already installed,

Li,
your backups and archives probably go to different management classes and hence
different tape pools.
You should use "define volume" to add tapes to the archive pool or set MAXSCRATCH on
the pool and have scratch tapes in the library.
