does anybody know where to find a version history of the ITSM Linux Server?
There's no version history on the ftp server like there is for the AIX
Server.
I want to know which arpars are corrected in the different versions.

Every now and than a few of my Win2K clients (5.1.6.0) end a successful
backup with the following error: ANS1301E Server detected system error.
No errors are to be found in the server activity log.
Has anybody seen this before or does anybody know what causes this error?

After installing Tivoli Data Protection for Mail (Domino R5.05+), configured for
transactional logging, is it necessary to do a full database backup. ie. dsmc sel
c:\Data\* ; before resuming the tdp commands: domdsmc sel * ??

could also acquire another set of disks that you can move the DB (while live) to. IE
lets say you have 5 db vols, even thought you only have 20-30% utilized its probably

Go to www.ibm.com. In the upper right Search box enter:

The product you seek is obsolete (because ADSM is brought under the Tivoli
flag in 1998/1999 (version 3.7)).

I have TSM sveres currently at 4.2.3.4, it has the system object fix.
I don't remember exactly without checking but I think that fix was in 4.2.3.0,
definitely in 4.2.3.4.

If you want to move the entire pool, your best bet is to migrate the data from one
pool to another.
I have several Users that are running Windows XP desk top and they tell me that when
they install a client on a server (NT,XP,Novell) the client install attempts to
install Sun Java on the workstation When this happens, and they try to run the GUI
interface to the server, the interface locks up.

No. Migration works be starting a process per node having the most data in a
diskpool. Work arounds:
- creating extra diskpools and plitting data by using multiple management
classes and including dirs/file types across these management classes
(complex).
- creating multiple TSM nodes per serv

Try reinstalling the TSM API Runtime feature from the Version 5.1.5
(or later) TSM Backup Archive client package. If it still fails,
uninstall... then reinstall the TSM Backup Archive client and the

I usually put the startup in /etc/rc.local, but you can put it in /etc/inittab
(not respawn), or /etc/rc.tcpip.
As root, to restart the sched process and detach it:
# sh -c "/bin/dsmc sched > /dev/null 2>&1 &"
If placing in an rc file, remember to background it '&', probably the inittab
as well.
